PHILIPPINE NATIONAL POLICE ACADEMY

"Always choose the right thing"
--HON. JOSEPHINE GARCIA BORBON, Judge, Bauan MTC.

The day started with the Traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony with the theme "Serbisyong may Malasakit, Kaayusan at Kapayapaan tungo sa Kaunlaran, Handog ng Pambansang Pulisya Kabalikat ang Simbahan at Pamayanan."After the Ceremony, the Unit Performance Evaluation Rating (UPER) and Interventions of the Station were presented. On December 2022, Bauan MPS was recognized as number 1 in Class A Municipality Level.
The highlight of the day was a lecture on Graft and Corruption as part of the 29th PNP Ethics Day Celebration with HON. JOSEPHINE GARCIA BORBON, Judge, Bauan MTC, as the guest speaker. She reiterated Moral Obligation in her message and reminded us to always choose what is right in all aspects of our duties as law enforcement officers. Lastly, at about 3:00 PM, we rendered a courtesy call to HON. RYANH M. DOLOR, Bauan Municipal Mayor, with the guidance of PMAJ ALLAN AVENA DE CASTRO, Officer in Charge, Bauan MPS.
In addition to the lecture on Graft and Corruption, the 29th PNP Ethics Day Celebration also included various activities aimed at promoting ethical conduct and good governance among law enforcement officers. One of the activities was a pledge of commitment, where officers reaffirmed their commitment to uphold the law, protect human rights, and serve the people with integrity and accountability. This pledge of commitment serves as a reminder that law enforcement officers have a duty not only to enforce the law but also to do so with a high level of professionalism and respect for human rights.
Furthermore, the courtesy call to the Bauan Municipal Mayor was an opportunity to strengthen the relationship between the local government and the police force. It provided an avenue for officers to discuss the challenges they face in maintaining peace and order in the community and to explore ways in which they can work together to address these challenges. This collaboration between the local government and law enforcement agencies is vital in ensuring a safer and more secure environment for the people they serve. Overall, the day's activities served as a reminder of the importance of ethical conduct and collaboration in achieving the common goal of a peaceful and prosperous society.
I admired the wisdom of the guest speaker and her perspective on public service. She advised us to perform well as scholars of the Philippines so that we can give back to our country. She emphasized that it's easy to be a good public servant - just always choose the right thing. Personally, I take this as a challenge, as I know there are many temptations in uniformed service. When I'm tested, I will look back on the lessons I learned during my cadetship and her humble advice to guide me in always choosing the right thing.
