44 DAYS OF FAITH AND VALOR

Updated: Feb 15, 2023

"44 has been a trademark of the Special Action Force (SAF), not because of our losses, but because of the greatest sacrifice that we've offered. 44 was also the inspiration of the man behind this book, PLtGen Cesar Hawthorne R. Bing (Ret), who himself is a full-blooded SAF Trooper who experienced the thick and thin in the service. Thus, his experiences led him to relate them to God's wisdom. Now that this book is published, 44 has taken on a new meaning: it is a daily reminder and inspiration to live in God's providence and grace." -PMGen FELIPE R. NATIVIDAD Director, Special Action Force

"44 Days of Faith and Valor" is a captivating and inspiring account of the courage and dedication of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Special Action Force (SAF) troopers during the Mamasapano clash in 2015. The book is written by Police Lieutenant General Cesar Hawthorne Binag, a former SAF commander, who provides a detailed and intimate account of the SAF troopers' bravery and determination in the face of overwhelming odds.

This book is an excellent read for anyone interested in the challenges and triumphs of cadetship in the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA). The book also highlights the importance of teamwork and leadership in the face of adversity.

The principle of "hardship precedes rewards" is a universal truth that applies not only to physical training but also to our spiritual lives. Just as soldiers, police officers, and peacekeepers value their training more than convenience or pleasure, as Christians, we must also prioritize our spiritual disciplines and intimacy with God over the pleasures of this world One of my takeaways from the book is the importance of faith in the face of adversity. This is an important lesson for PNPA cadets, who will be expected to draw on their faith and inner strength during their training and future law enforcement operations. Indeed it is excellent reading material for aspiring PNPA cadets. The book offers valuable insights into the challenges and triumphs of cadetship, and the importance of values such as perseverance, teamwork, leadership, and faith. It is an inspiring and thought-provoking book that is highly recommended for all those interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement anhavingve a successful life.
